We are currently 17 days away from what will be quite a fabulous day! There are a few things we want to point out that might be helpful to you on the day of and leading up to our wedding.
Parking For The Ceremony
When choosing the location for our ceremony more than a year ago, I must admit that it never occurred to me that parking might be a problem. Though the venue is very small, they luckily have very generous neighbors that allow use of their parking lots during large events. Check out this post that includes the map for parking. It might also help to look at the Google Satellite View of the area to get an idea of where to park. There will be signs clearly marking each parking area, and no one will have to walk very far at all.
Once all of the RSVP’s are finalized, an email will be sent out to all guests that will include a printable version of the parking map.
Our Back-Up Plan If It Rains
If it rains on the day of the wedding, we will not be able to use tents. We will have as many extra umbrellas on hand as we possibly can, but please come prepared with your own rain gear. (If we all bring umbrellas, we’ll hopefully ward off any need for them!)
Dessert-Only Reception
As it stated on the invitations and elsewhere around the site, we are having a dessert-only reception. Since the reception won’t even begin until 8pm and there are so many people who will need to eat earlier anyway (for health reasons or due to young children), we decided this would be the best option. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat before or after the ceremony. Below is a map that highlights all of the restaurants in the area.
Note: If eating between the ceremony and reception, it may be best to choose something closer to the reception location (Piper’s). Piper’s has a cafe next door to the banquet hall where the reception will be held, and there is also a Steak ‘n Shake and Burger Joint within walking distance.
